BASIC OBEDIENCE

Scheduling a free evaluation with ACDT is the first step towards tackling any behavioral problems you may be experiencing with your dog, as we can help turn your dog into a well-behaved member of the family. The second step is to begin a basic obedience dog training program that is designed to initiate and reinforce correct behavior.

Barking

Scaring sleeping babies, interrupting your Zoom calls and being just too-darn loud!

DIGGING

Your yard is a statement piece and takes a lot of work, having it ruined by a riled-up pup is wasting money and an eyesore!

BITING

When a dog is "bitey" it strains trust and can put your furry companion in danger of action by local authorities. Don't risk it!

Chewing

From your favorite shoes to couch cushions, chewing is an added stressor to live that you just don't need!

TERRITORIAL AGGRESSION

If you're hoping to have a happy home, an aggressive dog is no good whether it's with other dogs or humans!

HOUSEBREAKING

Whether you're selling your home or just want to keep things nice, animal accidents are a bad first impression to guests!

BEHAVIORAL

PROBLEM

SOLVING

A free preliminary evaluation will enable our experienced staff to capture all relevant information about your dog and your home environment. Once we understand the underlying issues with your dog’s behavior, we can establish a basic obedience plan that is designed to help your dog begin the process towards good behavior.

We have observed over and over again the great pleasure our clients derive from seeing how our classes lead to a dog that is well-behaved in all surroundings. It will become a joy rather than a burden to walk your dog or participate in other outdoor activities. You will no longer have to be afraid that your dog might run off after something or jump on a stranger.

PROGRAM DESCRIPTION

Walking with Dogs

We recommend our Basic Obedience class to develop a solid foundational structure and to overcome behavioral conflicts for dogs of any age.

Basic Obedience training focuses on teaching fundamental commands in a structured format through positive reinforcement. Our philosophy is not to correct a bad habit but instead to reinforce good behavior. Our training methods develop strong and healthy social bonds between dog owner and dog by having your canine master the following basic commands step by step:

  • Sit

  • Down

  • Heel

  • Go to place

After mastering these basics, more advanced commands are introduced:

  • Walking control

  • Heelwork

  • Distance control

  • Off leash control

We encourage the whole family to join the class, and to watch and learn so that everyone is on the same page when it comes to properly working with your dog.
